I was first introduced to Garry through my late father who Garry used to play Rugby with, didnt really know much about him at such a young age, but then started playing chess on a competitve level and eventually met Garry through our local chess club. i've known garry for some twenty plus years through chess, and he has always been a really good friend with a true heart of gold. Garry was also a formiddle player when he was on form, had many a tough battle over a chess board. he had many many friends from the chess club and will be very sorely missed by all who knew him. the club wont be the same without him. RIP my friend.

First met Gary in the Quakers bar, with Denise, got on like a house of fire, he had a policeman type laugh if that sounds right.lol
A really nice guy, our thoughts go out to his family at this sad time.....

Sorry, to hear this sad news. I've known Garry since starting to play rugby in early 80s, at the Mucmullen Road club. Fond memories of Garry on and off the pitch, from training nights, after match drinks in the club house, rugby tours, and of course going into town after the club all blazered up. And not forgetting the Christmas do's at the police club. One of life's good guys that would always give you advice and encouragement. My thoughts go out to Denise and all Garrys family this sad time.
