Mel has worked in the funeral industry for the past 18 years, co-founding the business with his son, John. Prior to this, he had a successful 35+ year career as a lawyer, specialising in all aspects of conveyancing at well known local solicitors, Latimer Hinks.

Mel's favourite aspect of working in the funeral industry is providing help and support to bereaved families during difficult times.

In his spare time Mel enjoys watching most sports, with a particular interest in Spennymoor Town Football Club. He finds relaxation in gardening and enjoys spending time in his allotment growing all types of fruit and vegetables. Additionally, Mel also has a passion for antiques and collectables.
