Woodland Bowls Club

Woodland Bowls Club held its yearly Woodland Plate competition on Sunday, 1st June 2014. at its home ground just of Hollyhurst Road, Darlington.

With an initial 12 teams booked to take part sadly 2 of the teams were unable to attend.

Even so the whole day was a huge success for the 11 teams who remained. Not only did the teams play excellently but the sunshine was amazing.

The competition was from 10.30am and finished at 6.30pm. With lots of red heads and arms the teams played over 50 ends.

'It was a great joy and privilege for Whitehouse Funeral Service to sponsor the event for the 3rd year running' said John ' The commaraderie and sense of fun added to the days festivities'

'Food was kindly provided by some of the Woodland Bowls ladies.....and a hugh thanks goes out to them'.

The Results:

1st Place went to - North Lodge Bowling Club

2nd place to - Shildon Railway Bowling Club

3rd place to - North Park Bowling Club

4th Place to - Stockton Bowling Club
