This years ‘Giving To Life Tree…’ has again raised a staggering amount.
Every year Whitehouse Funeral Service has a christmas tree in reception to help people remember a loved one lost at a difficult time of the year.
All anniversaries following a bereavement are difficult in the first year but the most difficult time seems to be at the first Christmas. Giving the opportunity to people to come in and write a tag in remembrance of a deceased helps in so many ways.
In past years it has amazed us how many people have come in and how much we have raised for our nominated charity. Even though this year seems harder on peoples finances it has been amazing how much we have raised.
The nominated charity this year has been St Teresa’s Hospice, Woodlands Road, Darlington. The good work that they give is second to none. Thats why it was nice, on behalf of all those families to present a cheque to them for this years total of £330.00.
Lets hope that this can be used to help other families at times of need.
